160th birthday of Antonina Leśniewska - events
October 24, 2026, 13:00 · Muzeum Farmacji · ulica Piwna 31/33
On Saturday, 24 October, the Museum of Pharmacy will host all-day celebrations of the 160th birthday of Antonina Leśniewska, the Museum's patron. On that day, admission to the permanent exhibition and special events will cost only one złoty.
At 13:00, workshops inspired by old recipes will begin.
What did everyday care look like a hundred years ago? What could be found in old cosmetic recipes, and which of their ingredients remain in use today?
At 15:00, the Museum of Pharmacy invites you to a performance titled Związki.
Anna Jurkiewicz, an interdisciplinary artist and vocalist, will present a new performance inspired by the biography of Antonina Leśniewska and the collection of the Museum of Pharmacy. Working with archives, the artist asks questions about their materiality and interactions with contemporary bodies. The performance combining singing, music and a performative lecture will take place in the space of the Museum of Pharmacy, surrounded by historic furniture and multicoloured pharmacy glass.
The full programme of the celebrations of the 160th anniversary of Antonina Leśniewska's birth can be found on the Museum of Pharmacy's website.
