26th International Mime Art Festival

Contemporary pantomime is no longer just a classical technique, precision of gesture and the illusion of an invisible object. It is also physical and visual theatre, and stories built through image, movement, rhythm, silence and the matter of the stage. It is precisely this diversity that remains one of the most important hallmarks of the event. The audience will see performances combining poetic precision and visual sweep with humour, melancholy and emotional power. The programme brings together various traditions and stage languages – from masterfully composed images, through object and form theatre, to an intense, physical encounter between actor and spectator. For years, the festival has presented pantomime as a living, contemporary and constantly searching art – light and deep, funny and poignant, intimate and spectacular. It is an invitation to theatre beyond words, created from movement, light, gesture, silence and presence. The artistic director of the festival is Bartłomiej Ostapczuk. The organiser of the event is the Fundacja Warszawskiego Centrum Pantomimy, and the co-organiser and venue for the performances is the Ursynowskie Centrum Kultury „Alternatywy”.
