Artifica - dance performance at Teatr Studio

November 9, 2026, 19:00 · Teatr Studio · Plac Defilad 1
How would artificial intelligence tell the story of its own creation? In "Artifice," the voice belongs to an artificial being from the future. Searching for its origins, it reconstructs the memories of Louise, the granddaughter of a man called the "father of AI." The history of technology viewed from this perspective takes on a personal dimension. What matters is both how the first programs were created and what Louise remembered from that time. Dutch-Albanian choreographer Klevis Elmazaj weaves together three timelines. From the future, in which an artificial being tries to understand its own origins, he takes the audience to the time when the first AI programs were written and to Edo-period Japan, where a fictional love story unfolds. Five dancers change roles, and each of these stories has its own rhythm, sound, and way of moving. The stories develop in solos and duets, coming together in a final dance of the entire ensemble. By giving the perspective to an artificial being, the performance asks about human ambition and responsibility. What do we want to pass on to the being we bring to life? And how much control do we retain when it begins to read its own history independently? More on the theater's website
