Bielany Bird Day

Traditionally, we have prepared thematic lectures, ornithological walks, there will be nest box building, arts and crafts workshops, and for the little ones – a special zone ‘Ptasie pisklaki’. Ornithologist and illustrator Dawid Kilon, as every year, invites you to a 3d drawing workshop – this year the theme will be the sparrow. Maria Ruddick will hold a mini-competition in imitating bird voices and will surely present something of her own on this topic . In addition, on our stage quizzes and family competitions with prizes. For the first time in Bielany we will host the publishing house Paśny Buriat with their nature publications. The special guest will be Maciej Cmoch – biologist, ornithologist, author of the books: „Ptaki za miedzą. Opowieści o mieszkańcach pól, łąk, pastwisk i wsi” and „Bug. Opowieści o rzece, łęgach, piachach, łąkach, starorzeczach i mokradłach, a także o życiu zwierząt i ludzi w meandry dzikiej rzeki zaplątanych. Przewodnik po krajobrazach przyrodniczo-kulturowych.” Participant of active protection projects, including for the Montagu's harrier, Eurasian curlew, common kestrel and barn owl. In his free moments Maciej Cmoch engages in nature photography. During our event we have also prepared a gallery of his works. At the MULTICO publishing house stand, as every year, we will stock up on a range of interesting nature publications, and the guest of honour will be prof. Maciej Luniak, zoologist ecologist, ornithologist, our neighbour from Stare Bielany. Educational stands will also be set up by: Zarząd Zieleni m.st. Warszawy; Ogólnopolskie Towarzystwo Ochrony Ptaków; Educator Witold Muchowki – traveller and organiser of international birdwatching expeditions (naptaki.pl and nazwyptakow.pl); Miejsce Aktywności Lokalnej MAL / Kasprowicza 14 and Biblioteka Publiczna im.
