Class Description: General fitness classes incorporating elements of judo are led by a certified instructor. The nature of our classes is tailored to the children’s physical fitness levels and abilities. Sample judo class schedule: warm-up; learning the basics of judo techniques; general physical development and gymnastics exercises; sensory exercises; learning the basics of falls, holds, and throws. Class duration: 60 min Who are the classes for? General fitness classes with elements of judo are offered for children in the following age groups: Group I: 7–9 years old; Group II: 10–13 years old. Schedule and registration: Classes are held from January through December. Group 7–9 years old: Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.; Group 10–13 years old: Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Registration at the ticket office of the “Szuwarek” Swimming Pool—2 Biłgorajska St., 04-303 Warsaw What do the classes offer? General development classes with elements of judo help develop nearly all motor skills, such as agility, endurance, speed, flexibility, and strength—and, above all, motor coordination. Training sessions include various types of exercises, such as general physical development, acrobatics, gymnastics, and strength training. The classes help children develop many physical and intellectual qualities, including courage, perceptiveness, resilience, and concentration. General fitness classes with elements of judo can serve as a foundation for practicing other individual or team sports. Among the most important benefits of general fitness classes with elements of judo are: improved agility and flexibility; increased strength; improved concentration and mindfulness; the ability to quickly adapt to changes and make decisions; developing and refining character traits through effort, self-discipline, and purposeful action; and providing excitement, adventure, and satisfaction. Who leads the classes? The classes are led by a certified instructor with experience working with children. Maximum group size: 15 people. Cost of the classes: The classes are free as part of a project funded by the Praga-Południe District Office at the initiative of the Praga-Południe District Sports and Recreation Center (OSiR).
