Dekalog of Values. What Really Matters in Life?" – meeting with Agnieszka Pietruszka

What is truly important in life? What connects people regardless of who they are, where they live, what they do? "Dekalog wartości" is an international social-cultural-educational project by Agnieszka Pietruszka, whose goal is to seek answers to these questions in Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Australia. She invites people known and valued in their communities to participate, asking them what is most important to them in life. From their portraits and statements emerges a polyphonic story about what, despite differences, can connect us. The first, Polish edition of the project was created in 2012 in collaboration with the Representation of the European Union in Poland and was presented among others at Zamku Ujazdowskim and the Senat RP. Its protagonists were portrayed by Andrzej Wiktor. The next installment was created in Zanzibar – the photographs and statements of Zanzibaris taken by Agnieszka Pietruszka were shown at the national museum of Zanzibar – Palace Museum in Stone Town, and the film accompanying the project was presented during the Zanzibar International Film Festival. At the exhibition at "Alternatywy" we will see portraits of the protagonists along with their answers to the question of what is truly important to them. The Polish and African installments will be complemented by the newest part of the project, currently being created in Nepal, opening its Asian chapter. The exhibition will also have an Ursynów accent – Agnieszka Pietruszka and Andrzej Wiktor are residents of Ursynów, and one of the protagonists of the Polish edition is Ursynowianka Hanna Krall. The vernissage will be accompanied by a meeting with the author and a screening of the film made as part of the African edition of the project.
