Day of St. Francis and Las Bielański 2026 – ecological picnic in the heart of Bielany

On Sunday, 4 October 2026, Bielany invites you to a unique event – the Day of St. Francis and the Bielański Forest. As every year, on this occasion we are organising an ecological picnic. Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about nature protection, as well as learn how to live in harmony with nature. During the picnic there will be a fair of folk handicrafts and local food. Artisans from all over Poland will present their products, offering unique, handmade items such as jewellery, ceramics, paintings, icons and toys. At the food stalls there will be no shortage of traditional breads, honeys, cold cuts and many other specialities. Many attractions for children are also planned, including educational stands such as the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Warsaw, bouncy castles, a theatre for children, workshops, alpacas, etc. A tradition of this day has also become the joint cleaning of the Bielański Forest. From 12:00, bags and gloves will be available to all willing participants, making it easier to get involved in actions for our planet. PROGRAMME 10:00 – opening of the handicraft and local food fair. 10:00 - 20:00 - opportunity to visit the exhibition "Sacrum i Otaczający Świat" at the Krużganek Gallery 11:00 – Solemn Holy Mass (Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary), approx. 12:00 – Blessing of animals (open-air stage in front of the Church) – we invite you to bring your dogs, cats and other interesting animals! approx. 12:15 welcome of those gathered by the organisers, including the district authorities from 12:30 – Bielański Forest cleaning campaign approx. 12:30 – Family programme on the open-air stage for children from Kukaj Kukawko! – An interactive concert full of onomatopoeic sounds, whistles and rustles. Stories about nature in traditional scales and rhythms of folk music. Discovering the autumn habits of forest animals. 12:00-15:00 – attractions for children on the sports field (bouncy castles, interactive stands of the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection, games and activities, alpacas) The Day of St. Francis and the Bielański Forest is an invitation to spend time together in a unique place, to discover nature, enjoy family fun and care for the environment. It is worth reserving 4 October and joining an event that combines education, tradition, culture and action for the Bielański Forest. The organisers of the event are: Katolickie Centrum Kultury Dobre Miejsce, the Parish of Blessed E. Detkens and Mayor Grzegorz Pietruczuk together with the Council and Board of the Bielany District. You can use the shuttle carriage that will run along ulica Dewajtis, come by bike or walk. It is important to leave cars outside the forest, thus protecting the beauty of the Bielański Forest.
