Good Strokes: Weronika Banasińska

The exhibition "I Don't Know If I'll Live to Be Forty" is a collection of works created over the past few years, made in various techniques. Most of them grow out of the need for self-reflection and an attempt to confront problems that at various moments in life seem impossible to overcome. They are a record of thoughts, emotions, and discomfort related to the feeling of being unable to escape from one's own body and mind, also marked by the experience of chronic illness. An important place in these works is occupied by the body. Drawing it becomes a way of taming one's own physicality, as well as an attempt to understand and organize the relationship with it. The works also serve as a personal diary. They capture states and beliefs that at a given moment seemed the only possible truth. The exhibition will also be accompanied by works of lesser emotional weight.
