Trip to King Jan III's Palace in Wilanów

Tour of the Palace of King Jan III at Wilanów A thematic walk through the palace interiors led by the Museum's historical educators. Its aim is to introduce participants to the history of the residence and to show how its owners, their world of values and aspirations were told about through architecture, décor and works of art. During the tour, participants will learn about the history of the Palace of King Jan III at Wilanów and its residents, as well as the meaning of the symbols present in the interior decoration. Particular attention is devoted to the relationship between art, court culture and everyday life of the residence. Historical culinary reconstruction with a tasting of Old Polish dishes at Villa Intrata A demonstration of historical culinary reconstruction by the Museum's head chef – Norbert Sokołowski, which will serve to tell about history and Old Polish culture. The prepared buffet will feature dishes recreated on the basis of historical sources. Each of them will be accompanied by a historical narrative introducing its origin, cultural context and place in the old culinary tradition. This is a unique opportunity not only to hear stories about bygone flavours, but also to experience them directly by tasting the dishes presented.
