Emotional Clay - Marta Stysiak

The project combines traditional pottery techniques with new technologies, data analysis and artificial intelligence. During the workshops, participants with refugee experience shaped clay, and the record of their touch was transformed into data, and then into visual representations of emotional states "Mental Landscapes". Based on this visualization, a series of ceramic evacuation backpacks was created – as a metaphor for the experience of displacement and the impossibility of taking one's own home along. The backpacks reflect the emotional weight of forced migration and remind us that we have no other Earth to which we could escape.
