Jerzy Skolimowski - director, painter. Exhibition opening as part of the New Enlightenment Festival

The paintings of Jerzy Skolimowski, full of intense color, dense texture and inner unrest, reveal the same unique sensitivity that gave rise to such cinematic works as "Hands Up", "Essential Killing" and "Io". Painting is not for him an addition to cinema, but a parallel and equal way of expressing emotions. "Unlike working on a film, in painting everything is allowed to me. No limitations, no obligations, no compulsion. I do what I want and fortunately I sometimes get satisfaction from the results," says the artist.
