Festival of Heroines: Freedom is us!

We are organizing a festival about women, heroines of everyday life, famous and unknown heroines, forgotten or silenced. We are organizing the Festival of Heroines because women simply deserve it - says Katarzyna Puchalska, director of DSH. The starting point will be two exhibitions – "Meluzyny z wielkiej płyty" and "Lata 80. patrzą na nas" – both devoted to women in the 1980s. Juxtaposed with each other, they will show women in full diversity: social, everyday, political and activist. This year the Festival of Heroines focuses on topics that remain relevant despite the passing of decades: social advancement, friendship, family, health, art and the fight for women's rights. The festival will become a space where the past and the present meet in stories about freedom – the kind that is won, negotiated, and nurtured every day. Curators: Marta Czyż, Weronika Komorowska
