TEMPUS FUGIT - is an album presenting a cycle of new original compositions by Gary Guthman for solo trumpet/flugelhorn and jazz trio, inspired by his twenty-year stay in Poland. The project is a musical story about the path he has traveled – from the first moments of encountering a culture new to him, through the process of adaptation and discovery, to deep-rootedness. The compositions balance between tradition and contemporary jazz, combining improvisation with narrative form. Each piece tells a different fragment of this fascinating journey – from the intense encounter with the Polish jazz scene in 2006, through years of exploration, to reflection on the passage of time and the place where the composer finds himself today. He will be accompanied by Mateusz Kaszuba Trio (featuring: Mateusz Kaszuba – piano, Michał Rutkowski – double bass/bass guitar and Artur Małecki – drums). The band presents a young, modern approach to ensemble interaction – these jazz musicians believe that playing together should be based above all on attentive listening and mutual inspiration. Meeting an outstanding musician such as Guthman opens new artistic spaces for the trio. Making music together allows not only to broaden horizons, but also to create a unique atmosphere in which experience and youth meet on equal terms. URZĄD DZIELNICY WAWER M.ST.
