Warsaw Open Data Hackathon 24 hours. Open city data. People who will help turn an idea into a concrete solution. Warsaw Open Data Hackathon 2026 is a creative challenge aimed at all residents of Warsaw. Its goal is to create solutions that can improve the quality of life in the capital, while promoting the use of open data made available by the City of Warsaw. This data is available free of charge to all interested parties on the portal: https://dane.um.warszawa.pl/pl. Three challenges await participants: Challenge 1: Warsaw 2076 Imagine a walk through Warsaw 50 years from now. What will the city look like? What challenges will its residents face? Although no one knows the answers to these questions, good ideas created today can become a step toward the city of the future in which we want to live. Challenge 2: Warsaw - catch your breath! The city never sleeps, but its residents need time to rest and regenerate. Amid the rush of obligations, it is easy to lose balance between work, personal life and relationships with the local community. Design a solution that will help residents find this balance. Challenge 3: Warsaw. Your move! Do you have your own idea for using Warsaw's open data? This challenge is for you. It is enough to use at least one dataset from the portal dane.um.warszawa.pl and create an application, game, predictive model or other innovative solution. About the organizer The organizer of the event is 42 Warsaw - a free programming school for people who want to gain practical technological skills. Instead of traditional lectures, it focuses on learning through project work and collaboration with other participants. The program develops both technical competencies, such as programming, software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science and game development, as well as social skills: cooperation, communication, problem solving and adaptation to new challenges. Who will evaluate the ideas? The jury will include representatives of technology, public administration, education and business. No. The hackathon is open to everyone interested. Programming experience is not required. What counts is the idea, the willingness to act and cooperate. The only formal condition for participation is being at least 18 years old. You can apply on your own and join a team formed on site, or start with your own team of 3 to 5 people. Why is it worth taking part? You can have a real impact on the city's development. The most interesting projects may be promoted by the City of Warsaw. You will meet people interested in technologies, data and innovations. Together you will combine knowledge, experience and ideas, creating solutions that respond to residents' needs. You will receive support from mentors specializing in data, technologies and service design. The prize pool is PLN 18,000. Apply!
