Re/Classic. KINOrozmowa at "Alternatywy" - "The Graduate
November 19, 2026, 18:00 · UCK Alternatywy · UCK Alternatywy
Her romance becomes the beginning of a series of events that take an even more complicated turn when Benjamin falls in love with her daughter Elaine (Katharine Ross). Mike Nichols's "The Graduate" is one of those films that not only went down in cinema history but also created images and scenes permanently inscribed in pop culture. A brilliant, ironic, at times funny, and at the same time melancholy-tinged portrait of a young man trying to break free from the world of adults' expectations became one of the symbols of the cultural shifts of the 1960s. Thanks to the role of Benjamin, Dustin Hoffman gained star status, Mike Nichols received an Oscar for directing, and the soundtrack with songs by Simon & Garfunkel – including "The Sound of Silence" and "Mrs. Robinson" – became as legendary as the film itself. After the screening, we invite you to a discussion led by Marcin Radomski, journalist and film critic, author of the KINOrozmowa channel on YouTube, doctor of humanities and journalist for Czwórka Polskie Radio.
Tickets available at the "Alternatywy" reception and online.
