Clarinet, or the older brother of the saxophone

October 31, 2026, 14:30 · ulica Adama Branickiego 17
The clarinet played an important role in the birth of jazz. Its warm, slightly "wooden" tone perfectly suited New Orleans music, and later swing. This instrument was played by, among others, Benny Goodman, not without reason called the "King of Swing." During the workshop, children will listen to the clarinet live, learn about its capabilities and discover how many shades a jazz melody can have. There will be no shortage of group singing, musical games or room for improvisation. The session will be led by Magdalena Este, a singer, pianist and composer who has over 400 workshops from the "Jazz for Children" series under her belt. The clarinet will be played by Przemysław Skałuba, a jazz musician, winner of instrumental competitions and leader of the Przemysław Skałuba Trio. The "Brat Dixie | Klarnet" workshop will take place on Saturday, October 31 at 2:30 PM at the Wilanów Cultural Center branch at ul. Branickiego 17. The session is intended for children aged 4 to 9. Free admission.
