Horizons / Book Club: Birthday

Who is Jaga Babażyna? An aging actress, or perhaps a director staging a horror spectacle? Who is she playing in her life? Or maybe life is playing games with her? And if so, in which of the worlds? Weronika Murek's daring novel is a story about the theater of life, in which it is impossible to tell who is the puppet and who pulls the strings. Full of intrigues that unravel reality, events that escape all rules, and unease that lurks just around the corner, in the dressing room among costumes, under the table, or by the entrance to the metro. The reading club at Teatr Dramatyczny is a meeting for literature lovers, readers who want to share their impressions, confront their own thoughts, or simply talk about an interesting book. The format of the series involves joint discussions about selected publishing titles that we consider the most interesting. Participants in the meeting will have a unique opportunity to see and hear fragments of the book read in interpretation by actors and actresses of Teatr Dramatyczny, which will serve as a starting point for discussion. The curators of the series are Jan Jeliński and Sylwia Chutnik In the 2026/2027 theater season, the club is under the patronage of „Pismo" magazine.
