In October we will consider whether rock could have been born without the blues? This question will become the starting point for a meeting devoted to Led Zeppelin's debut album – a record that forever changed the history of music. Before Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham created one of the most important rock bands of all time, the foundation of their work was precisely the blues – raw, emotional and full of extraordinary expression. During the meeting we will listen to the album from vinyl records and CDs, watch archival concert recordings, interviews and materials showing the birth of the band that within just a few months set a new direction in music. We will learn how the legendary songs were created, where the characteristic sound of Led Zeppelin came from and why their debut album remains to this day a point of reference for successive generations of rock, hard rock and metal musicians.
