Hirek Wrona's Record Club - music in the lead role
November 17, 2026, 19:00 · UCK Alternatywy · UCK Alternatywy
This time the spotlight will be on "Electric Ladyland" (1968) – the third and final studio album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. It is the work of Jimi Hendrix, an artist who forever changed the way people think about the electric guitar. Hendrix pushed the boundaries of the instrument's possibilities, inspiring not only subsequent generations of rock guitarists but also jazz musicians who found in his work a new language of improvisation, sound, and artistic courage. During the meeting we will listen to the album on vinyl records and CDs, watch archival films, concerts and documentary materials, and learn the remarkable story of its creation. We will see how Hendrix experimented in the studio, how he collaborated with musicians and producers, and why his influence is present in the work of artists as diverse as Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Prince and Lenny Kravitz.
Free tickets available at the reception of "Alternatywy" and online.
