Book of Herbs, or Stand-Up While Seated, performed by Anna Seniuk" as part of the New Enlightenment Festival

The inspiration for the story was "The Book of Herbs" by Sándor Márai – a collection of wise reflections that, like an old herbal, brings solace. The actress's personal narrative is complemented by texts from the most outstanding Polish poets: Zbigniew Herbert, Tadeusz Różewicz, Wisława Szymborska, Anna Świrszczyńska, and Father Jan Twardowski. In a masterful performance by a star of Polish theatre, these works take on a new, deeply human dimension. It is an evening with a great artist who, with grace, self-irony, and humour, talks with the audience about the most important matters – love, art, loneliness, and faith.
