Lalka. Reading Warsaw Anew – where Wokulski first saw Miss Izabela

April 17, 2027, 11:00 · Muzeum Warszawy · Rynek Starego Miasta 32
Along the way, participants will hear fragments of "The Doll" and learn about places connected with the fate of its characters. Scenes read in the city space will allow a closer look at the customs of 19th-century Warsaw. A visit to the theater was also a social event at the time. What mattered was who sat in the box, with whom they appeared, and who noticed them. From this perspective, Wokulski's first glance opens a story about his fascination with Izabela and about the world he tries to enter. The walk will be led by Agnieszka Pogorzelska, a Warsaw guide and museum educator specializing in intangible heritage. The meeting is part of the series "The Doll. Reading Warsaw Anew," which combines reading the novel with walks through places immortalized by Prus. Event details on the museum's website
