Lecture by Alexander Arkhangelsky in Warsaw "Living Pushkin

Alexander Arkhangelsky's lecture in Warsaw "Living Pushkin" We have known Pushkin since childhood: poems, portraits, school biographies and the familiar image of the great poet. But behind the bronze monument it is easy to lose the main thing — the living person. Alexander Arkhangelsky invites us to look at Pushkin in a completely different way: through his everyday life, habits, passions, money, love, faith and doubts. What did Pushkin eat and why was food for him a language of feelings and status? How did he relate to money, play cards and turn literature into a profession? What did he believe in and what did he doubt? How did he love — from youthful infatuations to deep and dramatic feelings? But this will be a conversation not only about Pushkin. Through his life we will try to look at ourselves. Over two hundred years, daily life, the rules of society and ways of communication have changed, but surprisingly little has changed in man: we still fall in love, take risks, seek recognition, argue about the meaning of life and try to understand what we really want. What would we be in Pushkin's place? And what would Pushkin be like if he found himself in Warsaw today? Alexander Arkhangelsky — writer, literary scholar, philologist, candidate of philological sciences, author of literature textbooks and biographical books about Alexander I and Pushkin.
