The event accompanies the exhibition "Rozkosze. Macierzyńskie pustkowie i płodna ziemia."
At 3:00 PM we invite you to the exhibition opening, and at 4:00 PM we begin our joint action.
We invite you to create a banner together with the Matki Twórczynie collective – an open group of artists who care for children. The group operates in the field of art, using the tools of activism. To take part, you don't need to be a professional artist – we invite mothers who want to act, talk, and create together.
At the turn of 2024 and 2025, together with participants of the Świetlica Matek twórczyń at the Centre for Contemporary Art Zamek Ujazdowski, the group made a banner with the slogan Chciałabym nie kraść czasu, which also became the name of a manifestation-performance. The event was a form of public speaking out and drawing attention to the invisible work of artist-mothers and the systemic barriers that make it difficult for them to function, among others, in the art world.
This time we will reflect on the barriers, needs, solutions, and demands concerning motherhood and women's work that we would like to place "on the banner." Together we will develop slogans summarizing our experiences, and then translate them into visual language and create another shared banner. We will also talk about the book Ręka, która porusza kołyskę, trzyma pędzel.
