The meeting will be opened by the director of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, dr hab. Katarzyna Person, who will talk about the historical significance of "Miła 18" and the research work conducted there.
Next, there will be a debate on the future commemoration of this place, with the participation of:
Franciszek Bojańczyk – historian and Hebraist, deputy director for development of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum;
Piotr Bujnowski – architect and urban planner, president of the Warsaw Branch of SARP;
Łucja Krzyżanowska – sociologist, as well as social researcher and deputy director of the Warsaw Observatory of Culture.
The conversation will be moderated by Artur Celiński – editor-in-chief of the monthly "Architektura-Murator".
During the meeting, the updated guidelines for the planned architectural competition to commemorate "Miła 18" will be discussed, as well as the results of a local diagnosis commissioned by MGW and carried out by the Warsaw Observatory of Culture. The debate will be an opportunity to reflect on the role of architecture, archaeology, and social dialogue in shaping the memory of the past, as well as on ways of designing places of memory in the space of the contemporary city.
