Writing “The Year I Searched for Meaning and Solace. Between Faith, Therapy and Business,” Monika Sobień-Górska decided to take part herself in the classes, meetings and practices she presented in her book. The publication is a reportage introducing the trends and the market of so-called new spirituality. Women’s circles, Hellinger constellations, shamanic ceremonies, manifestation courses and spiritual guides from the internet promise the recovery of a sense of meaning and life change. But what is it really like? What can explain the popularity of new spirituality? What dangers does it carry and does it give anything at all?
