Museum of Poster. Between Graphics and Jazz
October 23, 2026, 19:00
From 13 October, the Poster Museum once again invites visitors to the third edition of the exhibition. The museum is currently closed due to the replacement of the presented objects.
On 23 October, a multimedia lecture by Aleksandra Fiałkowska "The Art of the Poster. Between Graphics and Music" will be held, accompanying the 8th International Poster Competition We Want Jazz – MILES100.
The poster has never been just a piece of paper glued to a wall. First it informed and advertised, later it began to speak out on social and political issues. During the lecture we will learn its history: from 19th-century placards, through the interwar period and the phenomenon of the Polish School of Poster, to contemporary designs. There will also be music posters, especially jazz ones.
Aleksandra Fiałkowska is a graduate of the Institute of Art History at the University of Warsaw, a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at UW and a lecturer at the Open University of UW. She researches the Polish School of Poster, artistic freedom and censorship in art. She is also the author of the "Projekt JAZZ" columns in "JazzPRESS" magazine.
The lecture will take place on Friday, 23 October 2026 at 19:00.
Participants will meet in the lobby of the Poster Museum in Wilanów.
Admission is free, and the event is aimed at young people, adults and seniors.
