Scientific Cafe 1a - Is it worth writing? Meeting with Tomasz Jastrun

On October 15, 2026, at 6:30 PM, we invite you to the Wawerska Strefa Kultury for a meeting with Tomasz Jastrun – a poet, prose writer, essayist, journalist, and literary critic. The conversation will be an attempt to answer the question "Is it worth writing?". We will reflect on why we write, for whom, about what, and what role the record of our own experiences can play in our lives. Memory and recollections, keeping diaries, and the need to record our past will also be important topics. Is it worth capturing moments in words? Does writing help organize memories and better understand one's own experiences? Or can it also be an effective form of self-therapy? During the meeting, we will talk about writing not only as a way of creating literature, but also as a personal way of recording, organizing, and preserving one's own history. The meeting with Tomasz Jastrun will take place on October 15, 2026 (Thursday) at 6:30 PM at Kawiarnia Naukowa 1a at ul. Zegańska 1a. Admission free.
