Innocent Wizards 2026

The Warsaw Festival Innocent Sorcerers is looking for artistic threads that reveal those elements of our identity that are universal, shared, and transgenerational. Sometimes it is a great force for change and sensitivity, and sometimes it is absurdity, pettiness, or a ghostly dance. In a city that is still being rebuilt and transformed, successive generations try to settle in on their own terms, often in the shadow of a history they would rather forget. The 21st edition of the festival is dedicated to the work of Marek Koterski. This outstanding director and playwright was the first after 1989 to show the emotions of participants and observers of the political transformation, from both a socio-historical and an existential perspective. The portrait of Adaś Miauczyński from "Day of the Wacko" – a neurotic middle-aged intellectual who settles accounts with his own life – became an iconic image of the Pole after more than a decade of transformation. Through the works of Master Koterski and all the incarnations of Adaś Miauczyński, we learn – often with shame – who we can identify with, relate to, and in whom we will see ourselves. The festival program is available online, you can already reserve time and place, as well as buy tickets for some events.
