New book: Songs of the City

24 November 2026, 7:00 PM | Nowy Teatr in Warsaw "" – meeting with Ivana Sajko and a performative reading "Pieśni miasta" is a collection of four dramas in which Sajko examines violence, social divisions and the mechanisms of the politics of fear. Combining poetry, pop culture and the experience of big-city life, she gives voice to those pushed to the margins. She asks about the place of the individual in contemporary Europe and the possibility of building community. The core of the volume is the trilogy "Miasto Dobrej Nadziei", and the whole is closed by the work "#jeanne". The evening will be an opportunity to get to know the work of an author who experiments with the relationship between the word, stage action and music. The meeting will be hosted by Edward Pasewicz. Fragments of the dramas will be read by Maja Ostaszewska and Jacek Poniedziałek accompanied by live music performed by Pasewicz. More on the theatre's website
