The war is already here. And each and every one of us, consciously or not, is on its front line.
For years, Russia has been waging a cognitive war on Polish territory, and disinformation is a weapon it wields with extraordinary skill. Russia's actions in the information domain are carefully planned, dangerous, and far more difficult to define than physical combat.
Wojna na słowa tells the story of what is happening in our information space: how Russia constructs its message, how it is distributed and received, and what effects it produces. One of the most important is the shift in Poles' attitudes toward Ukrainian citizens.
The performance shows this process from the inside: how Ukrainians go from being a nation for whom we opened our doors and hearts in 2022 to becoming strangers, intruders, a threat. The creators also ask the question: who really benefits from this?
The performance is a production of Instytut Prawa Performatywnego
The performance was realized as part of the sixth edition of the OFF Polska program.
OFF Polska is a program of the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.
Legal analysis: Hanna Stacewicz and the team of the Dubois i Wspólnicy law firm.
Co-financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
