On November 8, Park Szczęśliwicki will become a place of meeting with history that can not only be discovered but also seen up close. From 12:00 to 17:00, the historical and educational picnic "Hero of the Independent – General Tadeusz Rozwadowski" will be held, dedicated to one of the most important figures in the fight for Poland's independence.
Participants can look forward to a journey into the realities of the early 20th century. It will be possible to visit a recruitment point, look into a Field Hospital, test one's abilities on a military obstacle course, as well as see a rich historical exhibition and take part in workshops where cast figurines and commemorative prints of signs will be made.
Fans of vintage technology will be able to see unique vehicles from 1916, including Renault, White and GMC Ambulance trucks, as well as the legendary Ford T designs and the Ford Tf-c armored car. There will also be heavy military equipment. The 76.2 mm Pravoslavnaya Cannon and the Trench Bomb Thrower will be presented.
History is also about taste. On site, everyone will be welcomed with traditional military pea soup prepared in a field kitchen.
The picnic is aimed at children, youth, adults and entire families. It is a proposal for those who want to learn more about Poland's history, the figure of General Tadeusz Rozwadowski and the everyday life of soldiers from over a hundred years ago, while spending a Sunday afternoon in Park Szczęśliwicki.
