Program: Presentation of the Honoree Artistic program Wishes During the German occupation, in the years 1942-1945, he was active in the Polish resistance movement as a member of the Szare Szeregi and the Armia Krajowa. During the Warsaw Uprising, he fought in the ranks of the "Żyrafa" Grouping in Żoliborz, taking part, among other things, in the attack on Dworzec Gdański. After the fall of the uprising, he was sent to the German Nazi concentration camp KL Stutthof, where he stayed from September 1944 to May 1945. He also survived the so-called death march, connected with the evacuation of the camp in the spring of 1945. After the end of the war, he tied his professional life to the Polish Army. He served in its ranks in the years 1946-1981, reaching the rank of colonel. During his many years of military career, he held, among other positions, the function of deputy head of the Chemical Troops of the Warsaw Military District. He was also a lecturer at the Wyższa Szkoła Oficerska Wojsk Chemicznych in Kraków and the Akademia Sztabu Generalnego im. gen. broni Karola Świerczewskiego. He also completed studies at the Academy of Chemical Defense in Moscow. For many years he was associated with the veterans' community. He was active in the Związek Bojowników o Wolność i Demokrację, in whose central authorities he held, among other positions, the function of treasurer of the Main Board. He then became involved in the activities of the Związek Kombatantów RP i Byłych Więźniów Politycznych, where he held the functions of president of the Praga-Północ and Targówek District, as well as vice-president and treasurer of the Main Board. Since 2022, he has again sat on the Main Board and Presidium of the organization. In June 2023, he was elected president of the Main Board of the Związek Kombatantów RP i Byłych Więźniów Politycznych, and in February 2024, he was appointed to the Council for Veterans and Repressed Persons.
