Post-premiere performances at Ateneum: Mary Jane

The title character is raising her son, who requires special care, on her own. Her days are filled with responsibilities, phone calls, and one doctor's appointment after another. In between, Mary Jane tries to preserve space for music, laughter, friendship, and her own needs. Women enter her life who bring different experiences and ways of coping with difficulties. Their presence does not solve all her problems, but it gives the protagonist closeness and support. How do you find room for your own life when everyday existence is subordinated to caring for a loved one? Amy Herzog examines love expressed in everyday gestures, fatigue hidden behind a joke, and the hope that makes it possible to survive another day. The play is directed by Grzegorz Małecki. The cast includes Magdalena Schejbal, Milena Suszyńska, Ewa Telega, Katarzyna Ucherska, and Maria Witkowska. The translation is by Anna Gujska, with set design, costumes, lighting, and projections by Joanna Zemanek, choreography by Jarosław Staniek, and music composed by Michał Lamża.
