A series of free singing workshops exploring the musical roots of Warsaw. During regular meetings we will learn traditional songs of Urzecze – an ethnographic micro-region located near Warsaw, where over 100 years ago different cultures intersected. For whom? The workshops are intended both for people with musical experience – singing or playing instruments – and for those without experience who want to discover the musical tradition of Warsaw. The finale of the project, at the end of 2026, will be joint concerts accompanied by an orchestra. There we will present the music of our ancestors in a modern and accessible form. The workshops will be led by: Ewa Wałecka – violinist, vocalist and educator. On a daily basis she plays violin and hurdy-gurdy and sings in white voice in the band "Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa". Magdalena Sobczak – vocalist and cimbalom player of "Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa", author of lyrics and music, leader of folk singing workshops. She has also collaborated with the Folk Artistic Ensemble "Promni". Jolanta Kossakowska – vocalist playing various string instruments (fiddles, violins, gęśle and cello), frontwoman of the band Mosaik, composer of film and theatre music. The project is implemented in partnership with the "Blisko Muzyki" Association and Dorożkarnia. The project is co-financed by the City of Warsaw. Link to the FB event
