Through touch or a brush we learn the boundaries of another person's comfort and show what attitude we have toward them. With their help, one can also convey and identify a whole range of emotions without using words or glances. The brush of a hand is most often the first bodily contact with another person and often leaves an indelible impression. People must touch others and be touched in order to communicate feelings, to help, to receive or to give. Touch is at once a very simple and a very complicated matter, which is why it is essential to reclaim, understand and refine this bodily language. Brushes improve our emotional universe; their infinity allows us to live and feel truly. The performance "Brushes" by the Test Dance Theatre shows touch in various guises: sensual, caring, emotional, breaking through, sometimes painful and frustrating, yet still positive. It is a reflection on the relationship between corporeality and shame, love and power, tenderness and strength. A dance story about brushes without limits with a touch of eroticism, to set the imagination in motion and provide sensual impressions.
