Szczepan Twardoch in Falenica

The Public Library in the Wawer District, Falenica Branch invites you to a meeting with Szczepan Twardoch, double winner of this year's Nike Literary Award. The author has over a dozen novels and short story collections to his name, including: "Morfina" (2012), "Drach" (2014), "Król" (2016), "Królestwo" (2018), "Pokora" (2020), "Chołod" (2022), "Powiedzmy, że Piontek" (2024), "Null" (2025), as well as the monodrama "Byk" (2022) and the drama "Pokój" (2025) and other texts, opera librettos and screenplays. His books have sold over a million copies. Honored with many awards, including the "Polityka" Passport, the Kościelski Award, the EBRD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development award, the Brücke Berlin-Preis, the Silesian Literary Laurel, three times the Onet Cultural Award O!Lśnienia, the Nike Readers' Award, the K. Kutz Award, and the Lem's Planet Award. The European Solidarity Centre awarded the novel "Null" the title of Ambassador of the New Europe. Rights to his books have been sold to over a dozen countries. Based on "Król", a series was made for Canal+ as well as two theatre productions; "Morfina", "Drach" and "Pokora" also made it to the stage. A few days ago, the author's latest novel "Waldkauz" hit bookstores. Since the end of 2022, Szczepan Twardoch has been involved in aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine; he has so far raised over two and a half million złoty in public collections and personally delivers purchased drones, vehicles and military equipment to the front. For his work for the Ukrainian military, he was honored in 2024 with the Stand with Ukraine award. The author's evening will be hosted by Filip Kekusz. Free admission.
