Shakespeare in the Sleeping Village

The first part of the evening will begin at 17:00 – Inly Touch, i.e. Patrycja Sobieska and Tomasz Januchta, will perform selected Sonnets. At 18:30 a meeting with Maciej Gdula will begin around the book "Jak uniknąć tragedii? William Szekspir a świat współczesny". Can Shakespeare really save us? How to decide whether to trust his commentators? Is literature more useful today than sociology? Is engagement or withdrawal a more promising way of resistance? And who exactly are "we"? These and not only these questions will be asked to Maciej Gdula, a sociologist and author of books that are both insightful and accessible. The latest of them: "Jak uniknąć tragedii? William Szekspir a świat współczesny" was published this year by Krytyka Polityczna. Look for the yellow-grey cover on the shelves of Uśpiona Księgarnia. The conversation with Maciej Gdula will be led by Tomasz Płachecki.
