Sukcesja – premiere at Teatr Studio

Anna Smolar, one of the most important contemporary Polish directors, returns to Teatr Studio with her latest performance. "Sukcesja", inspired by Pedro Calderón de la Barca's drama "Life Is a Dream", tackles the theme of power relations in the family and society. The creators examine the mechanisms of inheriting influence, position and privileges, as well as the tensions between individual freedom and the roles imposed by loved ones and the environment. The classic text becomes a starting point for a story touching on the key challenges of modernity. The fate of Zygmunt, a boy abandoned in early childhood, and his fathers: one present, the other absent. His life hangs in a fragile balance until the secret of the protagonist's origin is revealed.
