Do you remember this melody? Włochy celebrates the 125th birthday of Mieczysław Fogg
As part of the Włochy Senior Month, we invite you to a unique concert dedicated to the work of Mieczysław Fogg, one of the most outstanding and most beloved artists of the Polish music scene. The year 2026 has been established as the Year of Mieczysław Fogg, and at the same time it marks the 125th anniversary of his birth. This is a perfect opportunity to recall the most beautiful songs that have permanently gone down in the history of Polish song.
During a one-hour concert performed by a 25-person choir and orchestra of the Formacja Tango Para Todos, we will hear the artist's greatest hits, including "Tango Milonga," "Jesienne róże," "Tango Notturno," and "To ostatnia niedziela." A significant part of the repertoire will consist of pieces originating from the interwar period – an extremely colorful era in which Polish entertainment and dance music took shape. Between the performed pieces, the audience will be able to listen to stories and anecdotes bringing closer the life and career of Mieczysław Fogg. Selected compositions will be enriched by a dance presentation performed by a professional pair of dancers.
After the concert, participants will be invited to a two-hour dance party with music inspired by the work of Mieczysław Fogg and the atmosphere of pre-war Warsaw. This will be an opportunity for shared fun, integration, and a sentimental journey to the golden era of Polish song.
The concert will take place on October 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Okęcka Sala Widowiskowa of the Dom Kultury Włochy at ul. 1 Sierpnia 36A. The organizer of the event is the Fundacja Partytura. The project is co-financed by the Dzielnica Włochy.
