About memory written in places The exhibition "Here and Nowhere" guides viewers between real spaces and those that already exist mainly in memory. The starting point for the presented works is the urban landscape and architecture. The artist reaches for her own developed graphic and painting techniques, creating images balancing between a specific place and its memory. At the exhibition we will see works inspired by details of the urban fabric: the interiors of tenement houses, courtyards, corridors, or traces of former architecture. The blurred forms and ambiguous contours present in the paintings refer to the way memory works. Places recorded in experience change over time, blur, and take on new meanings. As prof. Artur Winiarski emphasizes, Alina Picazio's works relate to the fragility of memories and the uncertainty of memory, which undergoes transformations over the years. The exhibition becomes a reflection on what remains of places, people, and events stored in our memory. Alina Picazio Alina Picazio is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, a doctor of fine arts, and the author of numerous individual and collective exhibitions presented in Poland and abroad. Her works are held in the collections of institutions and private individuals in the country and beyond its borders.
