Class Description: Classes on the climbing wall are conducted by a certified instructor and organized by age group. Sample class schedule: warm-up; learning the basics of climbing technique; familiarization with climbing equipment; putting on a harness; learning basic climbing knots; learning to belay using a Grigri; climbing the “fishing rod” wall; catching a falling climber. Class duration: 60 min Who are these classes for? Classes are offered for children, teens, and adults: a group for children ages 7–12; a group for teens ages 13–17; a group for adults. Maximum group size: 10 people. Schedule and registration: Classes are held from January through December. Children ages 7–12: Mondays and Thursdays, 4:30–5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays, 4:30, 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. Teens aged 13–17: Mondays at 6:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Adults: Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Registration at the ticket office of the “Siennicka”—40B Siennicka St., 04-393 Warsaw What are the benefits of climbing wall classes? Climbing on a wall is a great way to improve your physical fitness, health, and well-being. Climbing wall sessions develop spatial awareness, teach concentration, logical thinking, and trust in the belayer. For children, it’s also a great way to promote psychophysical development, learn concentration, and build discipline and responsibility. What’s more, climbing allows you to overcome your own physical and mental limitations. Among the most important benefits of climbing lessons are: improved motor coordination, dexterity, and balance, the development of spatial awareness, increased physical endurance, improved aerobic capacity, learning to cooperate, communicate, and build trust within a group, overcoming physical and mental barriers, and providing excitement, adventure, and satisfaction. Who leads the climbing wall sessions? Climbing wall sessions are led by a certified instructor who has extensive experience working with children and teenagers.
